A SUMMER CAMP & RETREAT CENTER NEAR KENTUCKY
ABOUT DEER RUN
Deer Run is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-denominational Christian ministry created to host day and overnight Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Kentucky summer camps, homeschool day camps, family camps, married-couple romance weekends, father-son adventure weekends, & mother-daughter weekends. We also run as a year-round retreat center, as we plan custom retreats for church & business groups. School age groups can even host a Birthday Party here or learn Outdoor Education skills.
HISTORY OF DEER RUN
Deer Run Camps & Retreats was founded in 1998 by David and Liz Gibson. While in their mid-30s and after 15 years of marriage, the Gibson’s believed God was calling them to do something far more significant with their lives. After two years of prayer, it was confirmed that God wanted them to open a retreat center and begin a summer camp ministry near Williamson County Tennessee. One Sunday morning in August 1996, David walked the property and received a clear vision from God about what His plan was for Deer Run and the property it resides upon that had been sitting dormant for more than 15 years. God’s presence is strong at Deer Run. During your stay at Deer Run you will experience a deep connection with others and with God, as well as create long-lasting relationships with the people you meet. At Deer Run, God changes lives. You truly will experience the meaning of our motto, “Deeper Faith. Greater Adventures.”
Deer Run gives back by providing scholarships for camps and family events to children and families in need. Our scholarships ensure that no one is unable to attend Deer Run due to an inability to pay. Deer Run is a member of CCCA (Christian Camp & Conference Association).
