HISTORY OF DEER RUN
Founded in 1998 by David and Liz Gibson, Deer Run Camps & Retreats has followed God’s plan from the beginning. During the Gibson’s 15th year of marriage, while they were in their mid-30s, David and Liz believed God was calling them to do something far more significant with their lives. With two years of steadfast prayer, it was affirmed that God wanted the Gibson’s to open a retreat center and start a summer camp ministry near Williamson County Tennessee. Later on, on one August Sunday morning in 1996, David walked the property and was given a clear vision from God in regards to what His plan was for Deer Run and the property it resides upon. The property had been sitting dormant for more than 15 years; it is dormant no longer. God’s presence is strong at Deer Run. At Deer Run you will experience a deep connection with others and with God, as well as create long-lasting relationships with the people you meet during your stay. At Deer Run, God changes lives. You truly will experience the meaning of our motto, “Deeper Faith. Greater Adventures.”
Deer Run is happy to give back by providing scholarships to children and families in need to be able to attend camps and family events. Our scholarships ensure that no one misses an opportunity at Deer Run due to an inability to pay. Deer Run is a member of CCCA (Christian Camp & Conference Association).
