Jada Daves Talks About “The Heart Behind Family Camp“
If we do all these other things and we miss it in the home, what have we really gained? As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
“That verse is in my father-in-law’s house, and when I see that every time I walk through that threshold, I’m reminded of what’s really important in life. As a mom of five children, I want them to walk in the ways of the Lord. I want them to build strong families. But it’s very hard for the next generation to build strong families if they don’t have an example to follow.
We want to have that fluid, open, one on one with them at night when we do prayer time when I hear their heart so that I can pray for them. I want them to see Kevin and I, as praying partners, as we lead our family. So there’s no greater gift, I believe, that I can leave the world than to live a life of legacy, one that has a strong family, strong scriptural principals that guide our lives so that parents can be better parents, children can be more respectful children, and in an essence we are giving a gift back to the world.
Experiences like that are hard to find, though. As I’ve searched, I mean literally, the globe, what can we do to be a stronger family? I can find nothing better than an experience together that has a natural setting where we can come alongside each other, we can rest, we can relax, we can have recreation and we can leave renewed.”
