Frequently Asked Questions

HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO OPEN FOR FAMILIES & FRIENDS BUT WERE NOT OPEN FOR SUMMER CAMPS?

Coming with your family or close friends allows you to stay together as a family unit and limit your interaction with others who are on site, like when you visit the zoo, rec center, church, or restaurant with your family and friends.
With summer camps, children from different families would have been in small groups together which did not allow for social distancing.
Social distancing is defined by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as “keeping a safe space between yourself and other people who are not from your household.” Many families also have close friends they feel comfortable being with, but continue to stay a safe distance apart when together. Family & Friend Adventures at Deer Run allows you to do this.

If we purchase a day pass, am I allowed to drop off my kids and come back later to pick them up?

No. Anyone on campus age 18 & under needs to be accompanied and supervised by a parent since the day passes are for “families” to enjoy having fun together. We do not have staff who are allowed to supervise kids.

What are the age limits on the Adventure Rec?

Most facilitated rec is for age 5 and up. However, paintball is recommended for age 9 & up. Zip Lines are a minimum of 60 pounds.

What if it rains on the day I pre-purchased day passes?

If you would like to move to a different day due to weather, we can help you with that. However, on most days the showers do not last long, and we have several rec options that are covered and can make a rainy day FUN! Covered options include carpetball, human foosball, gaga ball, Noah’s Park playground, Archery & BBs range, and pumpkin painting area.

Can I reserve a pavilion in advance?

Yes, there are several pavilions available to rent for your family on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call our office at (615) 794-2918, email Contact@DeerRun.camp, or stop by the Camp Store to reserve a pavilion. Pavilion reservations are $150 for 2 hours.

What are the per night fees on my overnight reservation?

Both a 9.75% TN Sales Tax and a 4% County Occupancy Tax are added per night to overnight accommodations.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELATION POLICY FOR OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS FOR FAMILIES?

Cancelations should be made within 24 hours of the reservation. Cancelations made less than 24 hours from 3p (CST) check-in time on date of reservation will be charged for the first night rental of the reserved accommodations. Cancelations can be made by emailing Contact@DeerRun.camp.

Is coffee provided in the lodging facilities for overnight stays?

  • The Lodge: A self-serve machine with a variety of coffees are provided 24/7 in the dining room. Creamers and sugars are provided.
  • Eagle’s Nest: A coffee maker filters is provided. Bring coffee, creamers, and sugars.
  • Lakeview and Cedar Point Cabins: Keurig machines are provided along with 2 regular coffee pods, 2 decaf coffee pods, and 4 bottles of water. Guests may bring additional water and coffee pods.

What activities are available when we book an overnight stay?

Families who stay overnight enjoy extended hours any day of the week. Recreation areas are open dawn to dusk each day of the week. Onsite meals are also available daily.
