ALABAMA SUMMER CAMPS
A SUMMER CAMP & RETREAT CENTER
ABOUT DEER RUN
Deer Run is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-denominational Christian ministry that hosts homeschool day camps, family camps, married-couple romance weekends, father-son adventure weekends, & mother-daughter weekends, and day/overnight Summer Camps for Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, & Tennessee kids. Deer Run also runs as a year-round retreat center, planning customized retreats for church & business groups alike, and functions as a Birthday Party and Outdoor Education destination for school age groups.
HISTORY OF DEER RUN
Deer Run Camps & Retreats was founded in 1998 by David and Liz Gibson. After 15 years of marriage, while in their mid-30s, they believed God was calling them to do something more significant with their life. Two years of prayer confirmed that He wanted them to start a retreat center near Williamson County and summer camp ministry. David walked the property on a Sunday morning in August 1996, and God gave him a clear vision of what His plan was for this property, property that had been sitting dormant for more than 15 years. God’s presence is strong at Deer Run. While here you will experience a connection with others and with God and create long-lasting relationships on a deeper level. At Deer Run, God changes lives. You truly will experience “Deeper Faith. Greater Adventures.”
Deer Run gives back by providing scholarships for camps and family events to children and families in need — ensuring no one is ever turned away because of an inability to pay. Deer Run is a member of CCCA (Christian Camp & Conference Association).
Customized retreats for your church, ministry group, leadership team, school/university, or family including a variety of accommodations, meeting facilities, 5-star meals, team building and recreation options.
