Deer Run offers numerous recreation and team building choices for groups of all ages and all sizes. Whether you’re seeking heart-pounding adventure, peaceful nature hikes, playful competitions, or thought-provoking challenges, we have something to fit your schedule, goals, and budget.

There are a wide variety of Included Recreation choices plus Guided Recreation and Team Building which can be added to your customized retreat.

Your Guest Relations Coordinator can provide information on availability and scheduling of specific recreation choices on your chosen retreat dates.

Included Recreation

Deer Run’s Included Recreation options are open for use whenever you’d like! Set aside time for your group to use these options as a recreation and team building experience, or be spontaneous and stop by for impromptu adventure, fun, or competition.

Our Included Recreation options do not require facilitation or scheduling. If you’d like to reserve one of these options for your group to use privately, please speak with your Guest Relations Coordinator.

CARPETBALL

A favorite for adults and kids of all ages.

CORNHOLE

Tournament areas are scattered throughout the property.

FISHING

Catch-n-Release Bank Fishing for large mouth and hybrid striped bass, catfish and bluegill. Bring your own bait & tackle.

GAGA BALL

A fast-paced, fun spin on the game of dodgeball! Gaga ball is a crowd favorite. Think dodgeball in an octagon pit and hours of fun!

GAME FIELD

80-yard flat field with golf-course grass provides a great place for games, soccer, and fun recreation.

HIKING TRAILS

Easy, moderate, and strenuous trails through the wooded property and around the lake.

9 SQUARE IN THE AIR

It’s like 4-square combined with volleyball for hours of fun! This could be your family’s new favorite game.

NOAH'S PARK

Themed after Noah’s Ark and the animals onboard this playground has winding levels for climbing and crawling plus three slides for exiting.

Guided Recreation and Team Building

Guided recreation and team building require an additional fee and MUST be scheduled in advance since they require Deer Run Recreation Guides. Some recreation and team building activities require a minimum number of participants. Be sure to ask your Guest Relations Coordinator about adding these to your customized retreat package. 

Guided recreation and team building initiatives can be a customized experience to align with the goals of your group’s retreat. If you’re not sure which recreation and team building activities will best serve your group, your Guest Relations Coordinator will be happy to elaborate on appropriate age, scheduling options, and goals for each option.

AERIAL QUEST

A 50-ft multi-level course challenges you while teaches about overcoming challenges. Team support & encouragement help your group complete the course and build confidence.

Two unique levels: 16 elements, 8 ridged walkways, and Quick Flight at the end.

ARCHERY & BB RANGE

Test your skills at this covered range located by the creek.

CLIMBING TOWER

45-ft tower with easy and advanced routes plus an interior bouldering cave

GIANT SWING

After you are pulled 50 feet upward, release your own rip cord and fly high above the game field!

LEAP OF FAITH

Climb the challenging 33-ft pole, balance yourself on the small platform at the top, then take the Leap of Faith by jumping into the air and floating safely to the ground.

NOAH'S PARK CLIMBING WALL

This 18-ft climbing wall, under a covered area, has "auto belay assist" making it a great choice for younger participants to test their climbing skills. Two persons can climb at the same time.

PEDAL KARTS

Pedal-powered fun! Paved track with curves and room to pass. A thrilling adventure, lots of fun, and good stories afterwards.

PREDS ZONE OBSTACLE COURSE

Low element challenge course sponsored by the Nashville Predators. Where Deer Run recreation guides lead groups through team building activities that focus on cooperation, goal setting, communication, and creative strategy. Scriptural truths can be applied to each initiative within the challenge.

SPRING VALLEY LAKE

The 3-acre spring-fed lake includes swimming, zip line, 100-ft Wet Willie water slide, aqua park, canoes, Corcl boats and a large pavilion overlooking the sand beach and waterfront.

Lake Safety: Every guest, at any swimming level, is required to wear a life jacket at all times. Deer Run provides life jackets for age 3 & up.

Beach towels are not provided.

TEAM BUILDING CHALLENGE COURSE

Trained and experienced Deer Run recreation guides lead your group to focus on accomplishing specific tasks through cooperation, teamwork, goal setting, communication, and creative strategy. Scriptural truths can be applied to each initiative within the challenge.

WELLSPRING LAKE

A spring-fed lake with swimming area, aqua park, and Corcl boats.

Lake Safety: Every guest, at any swimming level, is required to wear a life jacket at all times. Deer Run provides life jackets for age 3 & up.

Beach towels are not provided.

ZIP LINE ADVENTURES

Six canopy lines through the trees
and/or the twin 800-ft zip lines where you soar like an eagle from peak to peak across the valley and back!

Deer Run Retreat’s courses are built to ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology) standards. Deer Run’s Recreation Guides are trained to operate all guided recreation and team building equipment safely, efficiently, and effectively. In addition to keeping your group members safe, our Recreation Guides will be sure to engage, encourage, and challenge them to work together and think creatively. No matter the guided recreation or team building activity you choose, your Recreation Guide will frame team building and relationship lessons through the lens of Scripture and ensure that everyone has an amazing experience.

In the case of inclement weather, Deer Run Recreation Guides and Camp Directors will use their best judgment to restructure or adjust your scheduled guided recreation and team building activities. Recreation Guides are aware of weather safety guidelines for all activities and equipment. They will ensure that your group has fun and meets their goals no matter the weather.
